Job Description

A General Laborer works in a manufacturing facility and performs general labor tasks within and around the plant.

The General Labor position s duties include but are not limited to observing all safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment and material handling, following established General Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety guidelines, including maintaining an orderly and clean work area, performing periodic equipment inspections, troubling shooting, adjustments and cleaning of equipment and counting, packing and inspecting finished product for correct label, cleanliness, and integrity.

The General Laborer will also work to understand overall impact of his/her job on team productivity and plant profitability, maintains high level of personal productivity and contributes suggestions for work process improvements to Supervisory, perform specific tasks as assigned by production supervisors which may including moving pallets, loading, packing, dumping, and cutting, identify and address product or processing problems in a timely manner, monitor, complete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork as needed, and assist in orientation and/ or training of other associates.

The physical and education requirements for the General Labor position are:
You must have a High School diploma or GED, one year experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment, good communication skills - written and verbal, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, able to regularly stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility, able to follow directions from supervisor, your vision abilities must include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception, your hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements and you must be able to work in a cold environment of 35-40 degrees.
